One fine, ephemeral day
we stumbled upon happiness
all lapwings and fragile
encumbrances. It was here,
under our toes, trampled
in from the rain; the
cobbled meanderings through
ticker tape and ennui, past
solitary windows to another's
shared soul - and happiness,
we let drip from the
coat stand in the hall.
